Not much going on here. It was a quiet weekend – we did see Superman Returns, which I wouldn’t bother seeing if I were you. Not nearly enough excitement – too much homage to the mythos and all that. I need more things to blow up, frankly. Thank goodness there’s a James Bond movie to look forward to this fall. I’m completely willing to give Daniel Craig a chance. (have you SEEN the promos where he’s coming out of the ocean?? um, yeah.)

I also missed Left Handers Day 2006 this past weekend. J & I are both left handed, amazingly enough. Other famous lefties: Oprah, Leonardo da Vinci, Marilyn Monroe, Prince William, Jimi Hendrix…

I didn’t know J was a leftie too! How cool!

Superman Returns may not have lived up to all of its hype, but it was WORLDS better than XMen 3. (Of course, if things hold true to form, Spiderman 3 will blow them both out of the water…next year?)

I’m curious about the new Bond, more because of the series reset than Daniel Craig. I’ve got no problem with the notion of a ‘fresh’ 007…what I think is interesting (and possibly dangerous to the franchise, if the experiment doesn’t work) is that Casino Royale is supposed to be the story of Bond’s first mission, reset in a post-cold war world. Yet, despite the reset, Judi Dench remains as “M” – but the imdb doesn’t list a “Q”! I have a harder time reconsiling a Bond film without “Q” (even if it’s not Desmond Llewelyn) than I do a new Bond.

You wrote “Other famous lefties:” does that mean you and J are famous? Just wondering ;)

I met Daniel Craig last year at the Angelica, I took his picture with my colleague Blake and I have to say that well… I can see wy the girls love him but he’s kinda short for James Bond.

Erica – how in the world could you NOT know that??

Kristen – well of course we’re famous. Famous in our own minds! ;)

ah, the magic of the movies – it doesn’t matter if he’s short, Ru, they can just make him look taller!!

and MD – I didn’t see Xmen 3, but I loved Spiderman 1 & 2, so I’m hoping 3 will live up. Re: the new Bond – I didn’t realize they don’t have a Q – that is so wierd, how can you do Bond without someone giving him all his gadgets?!

I read Casino Royale a long time ago and recall it being graphically violent with Bond being tortured within an inch of his life. It will be interesting to see how it turns out in this reimagined role. The trailer certainly is exciting!
