5 things in my closet: (technically, we don’t have a closet; we have armoires. German houses are built without closets.)

2. sweaters on the top shelf

1. cell phone
2. passport (it has to go everywhere with me. In the NL they give you ticket if you don’t carry it with you and produce it if/when asked.)
3. lipstick & chapstick
4. powder (I have a shiny, shiny nose.)
5. US & NATO id cards (can’t get to work or pick up my mail without those)

5 things in my car:
1. gas ration card
2. ipod & car adapter
3. empty water bottle
4. all-weather travel blanket (really comes in handy)
5. trash
