flat.
Martha had her first blow out today. I was tooling along on my way home from doing a little shopping after work when I hit a curb and WHAM! instant flat tire. This has NEVER happened to me before and I was a little freaked out. I would like to point out that I was in Holland and attempting to dodge a cyclist when it happened, so it’s not like I’m a complete idiot running into curbs for no reason. In fact, the curb I hit was in the middle of the road – not along the edge. Not quite sure why they put it there. Nothing like being stranded in a country where you only can speak a few words of the language! SIGH.
But I’m delighted to say that the German version of AAA, ADAC, worked like a charm. The very nice ADAC man came and put on my spare and I was able to get home just fine. J came to rescue me as well, but he showed up just when ADAC did, so he didn’t have to do much but be my moral support. I was having a bit of a mental meltdown. But J pointed out that the tires have lifetime flat repair, so it shouldn’t cost anything to have it fixed. yay!
