This year has certainly flown by, hasn’t it? I’m finding it hard to believe that it is the middle of December already. This time last year, J & I were headed to Venice. (I think that was my favorite trip to date. You can see the photos here.) Our next trip is tenatively planned for next month – a long weekend in Rome. I’ve reserved a room here. I’ve heard January is a good time to hit Rome – sure it’s cold, but no long lines for any of the museums and good rates on the hotels. We’ll see.
My gunk seems to be clearing up, or at least settling into my chest. I’m coughing a lot, but feel much better. J recovered in a little over a week, so perhaps I’m at the tail end of it. I *need* to get well, my parents will be here a week from Wednesday! J’s in Turkey until Friday, so that gives me the week to straighten up the house and generally get ready for their visit. It will be soooo good to see them again.
I haven’t been too focused on Christmas – our tree is up, of course, but it just hasn’t clicked for me. I was so wound up about getting our packages mailed off in time that I haven’t enjoyed it. Everything was mailed off last week, which makes me feel a bit more relaxed! Our Christmas cards are another story…well, I figure it’s not the end of the world if people get them the week after Christmas, right??
