2006, part 1.

Now that I’ve had a few days in 2007, I think I’m ready to look back at 2006. J and I managed to have a fantastic time – lots of travel!

In February, J & I spent Valentine’s day weekend in Paris. It was cold, but we really enjoyed it. I adore Paris. This trip we saw Rodin’s Gardens, Focault’s Pendulum and the Musee d’Orsay.

In March, my parents came to visit on their way back from India. Unfortunately, they were both pretty sick, so it wasn’t a fun visit. Mom & I did get up to see the North Sea, Corrie Ten Boom’s House in Haarlem and visit the Delft porcelain factory. We also spent a very nice day in Brussels.

J took me to see the world famous Keukenhof Gardens at the end of April as a birthday treat. In spite of an unusally cold and wet spring, we enjoyed the flowers very much. I’m definitely going back for another visit this year.

May found us on our most exotic vacation yet – a tour of Morocco. It was an amazing trip – who ever thought that *I* would see Morocco?! My life continuously surprises me.

My week in London with mom in June was a last minute opportunity – it turned out to be a wonderful time. I love London – so much hustle & bustle, but such history too. It’s hard to pick my favorite part of the trip…I was able to visit Kew Gardens, have a picnic lunch on the steps of the Albert Memorial, see 4 different shows (including seeing Dame Judi Dench perform live) as well as spend loads of time at the British Museum.

[...] Time for my recap of our year. (2006 recap can be found here and here) I hadn’t realized it until I began work on this post, but I believe I managed to travel somewhere every single month in 2007. Not bad! This will be the last exciting recap, unfortunately, as we’re leaving Europe in the next few months. While I can’t wait to get back to the states, I expect my life will become dreadfully dull! [...]
