Amsterdam
I had a really nice weekend in Amsterdam. We stayed at the totally adorable New Amsterdam Hotel – which I would recommend to anyone. The guy at the desk said they planned on renovating with new flat screent TVs soon, which would open up more space. The rooms, like in most of Europe, were fairly small. But we three gals shared a room with a fold out couch and managed just fine.
The weather was wondeful – sunny and fairly warm during the day. I could hardly believe all the tulips out for sale, but then I remembered Amsterdam is surrounded by greenhouses. When you come into land over the city you can see them glowing in these huge blocks of light. Kind of makes me think of the XFiles movie.

I have to tell you as our final year of life in Europe winds up, it’s been a disappointment to me that no one outside my immediate family has come to visit. I know it’s expensive, but it would have been so nice to have a trip with friends. *sigh* Even Erica seems to be bailing on our April trip to Prague due to turmoil at her work. I understand, it just bums me out. Oh well, just a little pity party for me – pay no mind.

Chris and I would totally come visit and travel with you if it wasn’t for this whole baby thing!
I love you and can’t to see you in about a month!!!!

I’m feeling appropriately guilty now.

So where in Germany would I have to fly into?
It would be an awesome trip. I have loved traveling vicariously with you and J as you have made your way around Europe. What an adventure!

If you could stay there a little longer, I’ve told Mike I want to go to Germany for my 40th birthday in 2009.
Although I have talked of bumping it up to this summer (instead of London like we had originally discussed doing). Will you still be there then? Can we come and visit??? I already have a list of Bavaria places I want to visit, but it would be so fun to check them out with you! Maybe I could fly to Germany alone this spring or summer if I had a place to stay… Is the airport in Frankfurt the closest? Or is there somewhere closer?
