Tempest in a Teapot

Dear Mom,
Happy Birthday! I won’t mention how old you are, as I did for dad, but let’s just say it’s a big one. So congrats!

I know we had a few (ok, more than a few) turbulent years while I was growing up, but I am very grateful you stuck it out and never gave up on me. I may not have been your most difficult baby – that title goes hands down to Kristen Anner – but I certainly was the most trouble once I got older. Some days I look back and can’t believe you put up with me! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you did to make me the person I am today.

You’ve been a great traveling companion these last few years and I am glad we’ve had the chance to spend the time together having adventures. I hope we have many more years together to knock around the world. I’ll see if I can’t get J stationed somewhere else you might enjoy seeing!
