Tempest in a Teapot

There are other things going on in my life, believe it or not. Don’t worry – I haven’t finished with Ireland yet!

.Today is German Unity Day so J is home today too. Having a holiay in the middle of the week is strange. As J groaned “it’s like having two Mondays in one week”. I consoled him by telling him he should think of it as two Fridays instead!

.Last weekend (I mentioned this on twitter), we took my ring in to a jewelers – I’ve managed to break/bend a prong. I know I’m supposed to take it in yearly, but I hadn’t done it over here. I will definitely make a point of it now. Fortunately, it won’t cost all that much to fix and I didn’t lose the stones or anything. It will be ready next Saturday. I have been wearing just another ring on that finger, but it feels wierd to look down and not see my wedding ring.

.Two weeks from today I leave for a few days shopping for pottery in Nove, Italy followed by my cruise out of Venice. I’ll be gone 10 days with three girlfriends. We are all super excited as you can imagine! The four of us are sharing a cabin on the boat, so I’m hoping we’re not ready to kill each other by the end of the week. It’s going to be so. much. fun. I hope my memory card is big enough. Maybe I should buy a second one, just in case.
