Update.
Last weekend, we drove out to Snoqualmie Falls to see the falls (duh). It’s a beautiful area, about a 30-45 min. drive from where we’re staying.

Today we stopped by the Seattle Home Show, which turned out to be mostly for people wanting to remodel or get new windows and stuff, then headed down to Pike Place Market to enjoy the beautiful weather. (as an aside: What is up with the weather? Everyone keeps telling us how bad the winters are here, but we’ve had way less rain than we are used to having in Germany! It’s been a whole week of beautiful days. In February! Not that I’m complaining.) We had lunch at The Pike Pub & Brewrey. J really enjoyed trying their beer sampler – his favorite was called the Kilt Lifter, which cracked me up.

Oh Karen, please continue with the Seattle travelog! You are making me homesick. Glad you are getting some good weather – it’s a wonderful place when the weather is good.

Karen, on the weather, that’s what we tell people to keep the population from exploding. (Just kidding…sort of). It has been fantastic lately. I’ve been told that the nastiest part of the winter was in December. I spent that month in Houston, so I’m feeling quite fortunate.
We may have a back slide into winter, but it sure feel like spring is here and get ready for summertime in the PNW. In a word — YES!
Welcome to Washington State. If you get a chance to visit Whidbey Island let me know.

Roxie – glad you’re enjoying my little writeups! we’re having a great time exploring. thanks also for the tip on the tulip festival in April, I’ve found a ton of information and we’re hoping to visit it.
