Great Weekend.

Had a great weekend, not the least of which because the sun finally came out!

Friday afternoon I attended the change of command ceremony for J’s boss up at the Boeing facility. J couldn’t be there since he didn’t get back from Edwards in time, but it was nice to visit with some of the others from his unit and reconnect a bit with them. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to chat with a lady who had her baby 11 months ago at the hosp. where I’m scheduled to deliver. J got home from yet another week away and of course he was exhausted so it was an early night for us.

Saturday found us relaxing and spending time doing things for the house – after breakfast at Dennys. :) We wrapped up the day by seeing Iron Man, which we both enjoyed. It’s good mindless summer fun. And the special effects were amazing! Saw a preview for The Love Guru which I have to shamefully admit looks hilarious.

Today was my favorite day of the weekend by far! The weather was absolutely goregous – clear skies all day. I can’t remember the last time we had such a beautiful day here. We started our day by visiting a church in Auburn…it was eh. Definitely an improvement over the last church we visited, but I’m not sure I loved it. I really should write about the other church we visited – dancing girls with tambourines are just a little over the top IMO. After church we came home for lunch, called the dads to say happy father’s day, played with the dog, then headed up to Seattle to enjoy the fantastic weather.

We took a harbor cruise around Elliott Bay since the day was so fine. I’ve been wanting to do that since we moved here, and finally got my wish! (tourist tip: if you’re military, ASK for a discount, they’ll knock off 10% if you show ID) It was delightful – we enjoyed the tour guide’s talk as well as the skyline views. Definitely a must for any visitors! After the boat ride we grabbed burgers on the pier before the hike back to our car. It was such a fun day. :)

Me @ 26 weeks, for those keeping count.

Aren’t those tours fantastic? I always recommend them to visitors and they always seem to love them. Guess I’ll need to do one myself, one of these days.

The sun was absolutely luxurious this weekend. The boat tour looks awesome, I’ll have to try one some time.

I did two of those tours back in the 90s when I visited Seattle. I’m going to have to be sure to put them on my to-do list when we’re up there in August!
