Weekend Update
Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th! We didn’t do much – spent alot of the day lolling around. It was fun! (I think we went out and shopped a bit because what could be more patriotic than stimulating our economy?!) We attempted to go see fireworks at the lake, but didn’t plan very well, so ended up watching them from back here at the house. We had a really nice view from our upstairs loft window.
Saturday morning we hit the Kent Famers Market for some fresh fruits & vegetables. While it’s nothing like the markets in Germany, merely a handful of vendors, it was nice to pick up some locally grown seasonal veggies. They also had gorgeous flowers – check out the bouquet J bought me for a whopping $7!!! It came like this too, all I had to do was unwrap it and plunk it down in the vase. I’ll go back, if only for the flowers!

Sunday we cleaned out the office a little bit so that it can soon become the nursery. I’m getting anxious to finish it – my nesting instinct must be kicking in!! We hope to have the crib & dresser next weekend, so it really needs to be done. In keeping with the home improvement theme of the day, J installed a fantastic ceiling fan in our bedroom too. It’s AWESOME – very quiet (in fact, nearly silent) and we now have an overhead light in there. So yay for my handy husband! That night we watched The Bucket List, which I have mixed feelings about. It was eh. I did cry at the end, but that could have been I am just a wee bit hormonal these days, what with being pregnant and all.
Oh and we met our neighbor’s dog, Griffin, this weekend as well. He is quite possibly the biggest dog I have ever seen in my life – a malamute mix of some sort and his head is easily at my chest level. He was very friendly and happy to meet us, but he could eat Sophie in one bite. And I am SO not kidding. We’re really glad to be putting a fence up in a couple of weeks. I’d hate him to be out and mistake Sophie for dinner. *shudder*
