2 week update
Hard to believe that Madeline only joined our family 2 weeks ago. My mom left last Thursday and J had to go back to work today, so it’s just me, Madeline & Sophie dog at home. After mostly ignoring the baby, Sophie now seems a little jealous and is actually acting out a bit – I need to make an effort to spend more time with her, poor thing.
We had Madeline’s 2 week check up at the pediatrician and she is doing really well. She already weighs 8 pounds, 6.5 oz (up from 7 lbs 13 oz at birth), and is 20.5 inches long (up from 19.5 at birth). That’s particularly reassuring to me, as I am her sole source of food. It’s a lot of pressure. It’s hard when you’re not sure if she’s getting enough to eat. The doctor assured me that with this kind of growth, she’s getting PLENTY to eat.
We’ve had wonderful weather, too and took Madeline out for a walk by the lake over the weekend. She seems to enjoy being in her stroller, she goes right to sleep! And, yes, I am as tired as I look here. Being a mom is Hard Work. J’s been wonderful, but he can’t feed her (darn the luck) and he had to go back to work today after taking two full weeks off.

Also a big thanks goes out to my mom, without whom I don’t know if I could have coped those first few days home. Being sliced open is not fun and the recovery was painful. Mom was AMAZING: she grocery shopped, cooked, cleaned and even walked the dog. All of that so I could rest & heal as much as possible. So, thanks, mom – you’re the best!!

I’m not sure tired is the word. You look beautiful. Exuberant, joyous, and wonderful. The tired is only a hint. I am so happy for you.

Oh, measurements! Yeah! Huge, huge help. Yes, I procrastinated on knitting. You live in Washington, so it is ok.
Heehee!
I agree with Tina – I think you look gorgeous!
