7 Months!
Madeline is another month older and, once again, she is super excited about it.
This was a month of big things – her first plane ride, her first visit to Texas, her first visit to both grandparents houses…*whew*
Here at home she is still just as busy as she’s always been – if not busier. She’s just doesn’t stop! The biggest change from last month is the crawling, of course. It’s so much fun to watch her discover new things. She was absolutely fascinated when she discovered the hardwood floor versus the carpet. And the first time she crawled around the couch & found Sophie? The look on her face was just priceless.
Another big change is how much more outgoing & social at playgroup she’s become – touching the other babies, interacting with them, smiling at the moms. Only a couple of months ago, she just lost her mind the first time one of the babies reached over and grabbed her foot. And now? She’s just in the middle of everything! (and what is it with kids wanting what someone else has?? Today at playgroup there are literally DOZENS of toys scattered about and *three* babies all decide they want the same one book at the same time. Amazing.)
She loves to play peekaboo…well, she loves when I do it; she hasn’t quite figured out how to do it herself. She likes me to sing to her or play pattycake. She loves balls & bubbles, too. Sure, she’s teething and grumpy. Sure there are days when I feel like ripping my hair out. But overall she’s a happy kid and I feel lucky that she’s mine! My only regret is that J doesn’t get to spend this time with her, too. He does get to see her on Skype & I send some video – I definitely need to do more of that, however. I want to be sure he feels a part of our lives too. We miss him!!
