Texas Visit

We had a glorious visit in Texas this year. The heat felt wonderful after a looong spring of grey skies and chilly temps. It was great to swim, play & spend time with Nana & Papa as well as Grandma Beth & Grandpa Ken who came up to see us, too.

My favorite memory is one we didn’t get a picture of – the first day there with friends over to swim. We got out of the pool & the kids got ice cream cones. It was Madeline’s first ice cream cone all to herself AND her first taste of Blue Bell ice cream (we can’t get it up here, sadly). You should have seen her face! She couldn’t believe Nana was going to just hand her an ice cream cone and no one would take it away. She had ice cream running down her face, into her swimsuit, dripping down her legs…and she was SO happy. Perfect summer memory. :)

Here’s Madeline swimming with her daddy – their first time to swim together!

A big thanks to my parents for letting us stay at their place for almost 2 weeks and for showing us such a good time! thanks also to Nana for the pink cowboy hat & cowboy boots.

More pics of the trip here.
