Tempest in a Teapot

Monday night I was upstairs reading and J was downstairs on the watching TV. Since it’s been warm here, the doors across the back of the house were all open, of course. He assumed Sophie was with me and I assumed she was with him. And we all know what assuming does…so about 10 minutes after I notice Sophie isn’t around, I go downstairs to check on her. J hasn’t seen her either. I immediately go into panic mode.

Turns out, she just crawled out under the side gate and took herself off along her usual walking route. She was tired of waiting for us to take her, I guess. So last night my wonderful J purchased some chicken wire and blocked the Soph’s escape route. Any bets on how long it will take her to find a new way out??
