Happy New Year!
Wednesday, January 5th, 2011I apologize to my poor neglected blog! You’d think in 10 years of writing here, I’d be better. But life just got in the way – frankly, I think I got a little depressed & overwhelmed at the end of the year.
I did get a few Christmas cards out – yay, me!
And truly, we had a great fall. Halloween was super fun for Madeline this year – she went as a cowboy. (pics) We had some friends over to trick or treat with us and the kiddos just had SO much fun. It was one of those nights that you just go THIS is why I had kids!
Thanksgiving was so nice – we celebrated with two different sets of dear friends who opened their homes to us. We followed it up with Zoolights so J could have Christmassy time with us. He deployed the Tuesday after Thanksgiving for Iraq. Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers. We miss him very much!
Since it was just Madeline & me for Christmas, we went home to Texas for two weeks. It was wonderful to spend time with both sets of grandparents – since we’re home now, she’s already in withdrawal from all the attention! With talking to her daddy in Iraq plus two sets of grandparents, Madeline opened presents three or four days in a row, so she was very upset when she got up one day and there were no more presents. THE HORROR. I found her Christmas dress second hand, but I think she just looked adorable in it. Of course, I’m a little biased..
I hope you & yours had a lovely holiday season, however you celebrate. I’ve got to take down all our Christmas decor over the next few days, but hope to recap 2010 this week. My only New Year’s Resolution was to be better about my blog!
